Sculptures

“In the strict sense of the term, Hervé Nys’s sculptures are all self-moving, moving in the sense that they are not simply to be seen, but in the sense that they ask to be moved, set in motion, ‘rolled’, pushed by the spectator. They require the viewer to drive them anew, but elsewhere and differently, on another, more interior level, in short, to become the driver, in the electrical sense of the term, in and towards a world apart, next to ours, not quite ours, but without being radically different. For, on board Hervé Nys’ convertibles, we are skirting the cliffs of meaning and the precipices of symbols…”.
